Doctor Refuses Antibiotics in Favour of Natural Remedies
I am practicing natural medicine in Hackney, East London. Using the Kinesiology language of muscle energy testing I am able to support my patients with a multitude of physical and emotional health conditions naturally including but not limited to IBS, migraines, eczema, asthma, hay fever, hormonal conditions, allergies, food sensitivities, stress, anxiety, depression, arthritis and so much more. I use only natural methods of healing including nutritional medicine in the form specialised supplementation, structural medicine using gentle manipulations, vibrational medicine in the form of tuning forks and other sound therapies, energy medicine such as meridian energy system work, acupressure points, lymphatic massage, Reiki and my own devised form of hand energy healing called Phi Healing. It is a multifaceted form of healing work that addresses the physical, emotional, structural and energetic systems that make up the human body.
It is very common for me to hear in my clinic statements along the lines of:
"my doctor says I'll have this for life"
"my doctor says this is incurable"
"my doctor said I'll have to take these drugs for life"
This is a great shame because in many instances these statements are simply not true. Doctors are good, good people. They are highly intelligent and educated and their only aim is to help people get better. But they are often working from a dated Newtonian model of medicine that views the body as just a structured machine of broken parts that need fixing or replacing.
However, a conversation I had this morning with a very dear and close friend of mine imbued me with such hope, excitement and inspiration for the future of medicine and got me thinking of the idea that one day both conventional and natural medicine approaches could see eye to eye.
This friend had been experiencing a recurrent sore throat and ear infection over the last two months. Being a follower of energetic and vibrational medicine, after some thought decided the time had come to go to the GP and get some antibiotics to nip it in the bud once and for all. The meeting with the head GP was nothing short of unbelievable. My dear friend reported that his conversation with doctor and trainee doctor went along the lines of:
DOCTOR: I am reluctant to give you antibiotics for this. What else have you tried?
FRIEND: I've started using apple cider vinegar
DOCTOR: Oh apple cider vinegar! Apple cider vinegar is fantastic, it cures so many ailments. To trainee GP: Have you heard of apple cider vinegar? Research apple cider vinegar, it's wonderful!
FRIEND: Is there anything else you would recommend?
DOCTOR: Yes, I would try turmeric, cayenne pepper and I've heard grapefruit seed extract is fantastic, we are hearing of great results with that. And Vitamin C. At least 2 grams of Vitamin C a day. Go away and try this and let us know how you get on. If it remains persistent we will reconsider the antibiotic treatment"
Hearing this story has filled me with so much hope, and has inspired me to start opening up more respectful conversations with doctors, physicians and scientists. We are in a great time of change and learning both medically and energetically. For so long the emotional, spiritual and subtle energy bodies have been negated by conventional medicine. Similarly the use of various drugs and surgical procedures have been shunned by the holistic community. The truth is that I know many people who's lives have been saved by medical intervention. Like my Acupuncturist said to me in response to the fact I had to take Ibuprofen for a splitting headache "Gary, it's all medicine, you just decided what is right for you each step of the way."
I am so excited for the progress of medicine in all its forms. And I hope this open minded attitude in both worlds of medicine and healing can continue and grow.
