How I Became A Kinesiologist

This is Karen

This is Karen

I remember going to my first ever Kinesiology session with a wonderful practitioner called Karen Willis based in Highbury & Islington. I was suffering from fatigue, daily headaches and general feelings of lowness coupled with finding it extremely difficult to get out of bed in the morning. I'd been feeling like this for a long time, and like most people had gotten so used to this state of health that it had started to feel normal. My partner at the time, an amazing artist and energy worker himself Stephen Morallee, urged me to see this (in his own words) 'wonder woman'. Always up for something new, and quite desperate to feel different to how I was, I went along...

I remember laying on the table and Karen testing my first muscle and muttering quietly to herself something along the lines of 'ah, ok, that's where that's coming from... the liver. Ahh, and that's causing this to go off balance which is probably having a knock on effect to...' I burst into tears. For the first time I felt understood, listened too and genuinely like someone was concerned about my well being and had the know how to help me. The session consisted of multiple muscle tests to communicate with my different organs, tuning forks ringing through my nervous system, meridian tapping techniques and various exercises with my eye positions to release stuck emotions. I lay there in awe of what felt and looked like magic. It was a flurry of new concepts which enthralled me in a hypnotic wonder. I was fascinated with the whole experience and was deeply impressed and impacted by Karen's level of expertise, knowledge and intuition.

Did I feel 100% better?

That's me

That's me

I left the session feeling excited, inspired and empowered and definitely more energised. This is where energetic medicine differs to conventional medicine. There are no pills or liquids that ease your symptoms off straight away, although it is often the case that Kinesiology can have instant results. But the body needs time and the right tools to start healing. Of course, I had some homework to do. As I left the session I felt as if I was taking my health into my own hands and taking responsibility for my own life and wellbeing. I wasn't taking a random drug having no idea what it was and how it would impact me. I had various herbs, supplements and flower remedies to take, which were explained to me in detail and how they would help my system. It worked out my T3 & T4 thyroid hormones were completely out of balance, 3 of my 5 liver detox pathways were blocked, and adrenals were seriously fatigued. Oh and I had an intestinal parasite. NICE! Karen knew all this by 'talking' to my body through the language of Kinesiology. It took me 2 weeks to start feeling the benefits and within four weeks I felt so full of energy that I was hooked on this magical new practice. I vowed to go and see Karen every 6 weeks and have been doing that since my first session.

This experience inspired me to change the course of my life. Stephen bought me a book for my birthday called Energy Medicine by the wonderful Donna Eden, and this was the final push which propelled me forward to train to become a Systematic Kinesiologist. I joined the UK's longest running school The Academy of Systematic Kinesiology and trained with Claire Muller, the daughter of Brian Butler, the man who brought Systematic Kinesiology to Europe from the States in the 1970s. I now enjoy a vibrant practice of my own, good health and hopefully a happy and fulfilled future. I truly believe that this is not only the medicine of the future but the medicine of NOW.

If you are wondering how Kinesiology might be able to help you the please feel free to contact me and ask anything you like.
